Class is in session with Work Experience and Preparation Programs

In recent weeks, Paul, Deb and Heather had the pleasure of attending a local high school to address a group of approx. 40 Year 10 students as part of their Work Experience and Preparation. It was really pleasing to see how well the students engaged with us as we discussed workplace expectations, resume preparation and interview protocols. We did some role play demonstrating interview dos and don’ts, and some group exercises which had the students work together to prepare a group presentation. Students were also given the opportunity to ask questions regarding work-place conditions and awards, and to discuss any concerns they may have regarding the part-time after school work they have.

Among the group were a number of young people on the Autism Spectrum and we were impressed by the way these young people connected with us and their peers.  The program was so well received by students and staff alike, that we have been asked about the possibility of coming back later in the year to conduct mock interviews with the students.
