Thursday 28th May 2015 saw the commencement our Craft Coffee and Chat Day Program. We currently have 4-5 attendees on a weekly basis, made up of some of our supported people with physical and intellectual disabilities, with 2 support staff in attendance. The attendees are highly motivated and very keen to learn new skills and are enjoying being able to contribute their time. A lot of fun and very productive time is had by all.
Our Program Manager, Heather, and Coordinator, Lisa, are supported by a lovely Year 12 student who is gaining work experience while completing VET studies in Cert lll Community Services. Heather has been leading a craft project making Christmas cards to be distributed at the end of the year to our supported people, support workers, DCSI case managers and others, and this project will be ongoing until we reach around 150 cards. Lisa is a wonderful support to the program and also organises lunch and morning tea for all.
